EBONEE BROWN| ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Ebonee Brown (She/They) is the Administrative Assistant at the Democracy Lab South.

Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Ebonee graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, with a BA in Literature in 2021. While at Spelman College, Ebonee was awarded the United Negro College Fund Mellon-Mays Minority Undergraduate Fellowship for their academic research as well as numerous merit-based scholarships and awards such as the Samuel H. Johnson Scholarship and the Lettie Pace grant. In the Spring of 2023, they graduated with a Master of Arts in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at the University of Florida, where she was awarded the Charles T. Woods Grant, which supports student research that benefits LGBTQIA+ communities as well as the Outstanding Graduate Student Award. While at the University of Florida, they studied Atlanta’s Trap genre and the intersections of regional Blackness, gender, and performance in popular culture. Ebonee desires to serve their community through social action and political activism.
